We are particularly proud of our sporting achievements, being one of the smaller schools in Harpenden.  We are active members of the Harpenden School Sports Partnership.  We regularly participate in County and District events.  As part of our PE curriculum all children have the opportunity to attend swimming lessons for one session a week for one term each year.  For further information on sport at St Nicholas, please see our sports premium page. 

Our Intent for P.E

To develop the children’s knowledge skills and understanding so they can perform with increasing confidence and competence in a range of physical activities.  To promote an understanding in children of their bodies in action in addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle enabling them to make informed choices.

To develop the children’s enjoyment of physical activities and obtain an understanding of how to succeed in a range of activities.
