French
Our Intent for French
We intend to provide a relevant, broad, vibrant French curriculum that will inspire our pupils using a wide variety of topics and themes. We strive to embed elements of vocabulary so that all pupils feel confident speaking French for a purpose, e.g. using greetings and colours to answer the register. We always teach French in a creative and varied way to engage pupils and embed learning e.g. use of songs, stories, video clips, games and visual aids. We encourage to persevere with their pronunciation in a learning atmosphere that is kind and collaborative. French is always taught in an inclusive way so that all pupils feel able to speak and participate in a resilient way. Children learn to appreciate French culture as empathetic learners.
